Möller’s omega-3 fish oil is a food supplement, suitable for everyone who considers health as important and who would like to increase intake of essential omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin A, D and E. Taking cod liver oil is important in every phase during life: child, adult, pregnant, aged.

Especially people who do not eat any or little fatty fish will benefit from consumption of Möller’s.

Intake of DHA and EPA, the fish fatty acids, is too low in the Netherlands. The Dutch consume on average 75-133 mg of fish fatty acids per day. This amount is significantly lower than the minimal recommended daily intake of 450 mg. Fish is the most important source of DHA and EPA in the diet. Therefore, the Dutch Health Council recommends eating fish twice a week, of which at least once fatty fish (herring, mackerel, salmon). However, the average DHA and EPA intake is too low.

Vitamin D
In winter, almost 60% of the Dutch have a vitamin D deficiency. In summer, this percentage is still 35%.

That is why it is important to complement these deficiencies or to keep up your levels with omega-3-rich and vitamin D-rich foods or supplements, such as Möller’s fish oil.
If you fail to eat enough fish or if you are not a fish lover, Möller’s cod liver oil constitutes a very good supplementation.

Adults and elderly

Omega-3 fatty acids are important building blocks of the brain, are of high importance for a good heart function and have a beneficial effect on vision. These effects are obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA and EPA, which is easily achieved with Möller's (1.000 mg DHA and EPA per daily portion).

Vitamin A and D support the immune system, which ensures good disease resistance. Vitamin A influences vision in a beneficial way. In addition, vitamin D is important for maintaining strong bones and teeth and good muscle functioning. Maintenance of good health in these fields is very important, also during ageing. The older you are, the less your body can synthesize vitamin D under influence of sunlight. Therefore, vitamin D supplementation is recommended.

Moreover, taking Möller's omega-3 is also very important for overall vitality. Due to the beneficial effects on multiple aspects of health, described above, you feel healthy and vital. Feel good with Möller's!

Pregnant women

When you are expecting, healthy eating and healthy living is extra important during this period. In principle, a healthy diet provides you with sufficient vitamins and minerals. Exceptions to this are vitamin D and folic acid, for which supplementation is desired. Furthermore, the intake of sufficient omega-3 fatty acids is important. If you do not manage to eat fatty fish twice a week, such as herring, mackerel or wild salmon, supplementation with a dietary supplement is strongly recommended. Möller’s cod liver oil is a natural source of vitamin A and D and the essential omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. It is recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Intake of Möller's by the pregnant woman influences growth and healthy development of the child, but also affects the mother's health.

Vitamin D

Pregnant women are advised to take 10 micrograms of vitamin D per day extra. Vitamin D is needed to absorb calcium properly from the diet. Calcium is important for the formation and maintenance of a strong skeleton. In addition, vitamin D supports the mother’s resistance. Möller’s cod liver oil provides you with 10 micrograms of vitamin D per daily dosage (5 ml / 1 dessert spoon).

Omega-3 fatty acid DHA

The omega-3 fatty acid DHA is important for the development of the brain* and vision* of the foetus. The amount of omega-3 fatty acids that is transferred to the foetus through the placenta depends on the mother’s diet. Omega-3 fatty acids DHA are in fatty fish, cod liver oil and other fish oils. When consuming little to no (fatty) fish, it is recommended to supplement with omega-3 fatty acid DHA. Möller’s cod liver oil contains 600 mg DHA per daily dosage (5 ml / 1 dessert spoon).

* Beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg DHA by the mother, in addition to the recommended daily intake of 250 mg DHA and EPA.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is needed for the development of vision and for the build-up of the skin and mucous membranes of the respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract of the baby. Moreover, this vitamin supports the immune system of the pregnant woman (defence against infections). During pregnancy, you need 25% more vitamin A than usual. The recommended daily intake of vitamin A is increased from 800 to 1.000 micrograms during pregnancy.

Sufficient vitamin A during pregnancy is important, but an excess of this vitamin should be prevented. Do not eat too many vitamin A-rich products during pregnancy, such as liver, pate and liverwurst. One slice of pate contains, for example, 350 micrograms of vitamin A. The recommended daily intake (RDI) of vitamin A during pregnancy is 1.000 micrograms per day (the maximum safe dose for pregnant women is 3.000 micrograms per day).
Möller’s fish oil contains a safe amount of vitamin A: 250 micrograms per daily dosage.

The ingredients of Möller's cod liver oil consumed by the breastfeeding mother are transferred to the baby by breastfeeding. This contributes to the development of the eyes and brain of your child, because the DHA omega-3 fatty acids are transferred through mother's milk for the baby. 


Möller’s cod liver oil is recommended for children from 3 years old, because it is a rich and natural combination of vitamin A and D and the essential omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. Due to its liquid form, our cod liver oil is easy to feed to children (breaking capsules is not necessary (anymore)).

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is required for the absorption of calcium and thus for a proper development of bones and teeth. In addition, vitamin D supports a healthy immune system.

The Dutch Health Council (Gezondheidsraad) recommends to supplement children up to 4 years of age with 10 micrograms of vitamin D per day extra. The daily recommended intake Möller’s cod liver oil (5 ml / 1 dessert spoon) contains 10 micrograms of vitamin D.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A has a positive effect on the immune system and vision of children. For children up to 3 years old, the recommended daily intake of vitamin A is 400 micrograms per day, for children from 4 to 8 years old, this is 500 micrograms per day.
Möller’s contains a safe amount of vitamin A: 250 micrograms per daily dosage.

Omega-3 fatty acid DHA

The amount of the omega-3 fatty acid DHA in Möller’s is high. DHA is an important building block for the brain* and supports the vision. For young children, additional intake of DHA is recommended to contribute to the development of their nervous system.

* Beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA.

Which flavour for what age?

All flavours are equal in nutritional values. The only difference is the flavour. Möller’s cod liver oil Natural and Lemon have more gentle, natural flavours than Möller’s cod liver oil Tutti Frutti. Möller's Tutti Frutti is children's most loved flavour.
